Deichman Events with Rita Ora
Hey everyone!
So I was invited to go to the launch of Deichmann x Rita Ora shoe line event and I was really intrigued by the vibe, so I agreed and ventured to London to the store and checked out some of the footwear.
Am I a Rita Ora fan? I have a very strange relationship with pop musicians because I love music, I’m a music head. I knew who she was when she was working with Craig David as a kid, before her mainstream success, so when she was much younger I thought she had a really cute voice and I liked that she was passionate about music. I’m not majorly sure what Rita Ora is in 2020 and I think she puts out some catchy songs, but I find it peculiar because she doesn’t fit into a lane. I don’t know what the focus of what she does is any more which I guess is more so a case of me beng out of touch? She’s very much a hustler, but fashion-wise is she a designer? It’s a bit watered down Gwen Stefani for me.
The shoes were cute. Were they in my size? Of course not. I thought there was a mix of sci-fi fabrics and streetwear, there was definitely a 90s nod in some of the looks and they told four different stories throughout. The event was full of amazing people and I really enjoyed meeting some of the Instagram influencers doing social media today.
It’s always an interesting experience when you go to these places because you sort of speak to people with the expectation that they are going to tell you something that they have done that’s out of the ordinary, and you find out when you see their content that it’s possibly the most mundane viewfinder into an uncreative lifestyle that one could stumble on, so when you find nice people I’m majorly taken a back by it because I think often I’m like a different creature in these cases. I don’t really understand if I’m gonna be honest, why I’m invited to go to these types of events because until I launched Agitprop, I wasn’t really active in reporting on the things I go to? So I don’t know if they just wanted to fil a quota and I’m the head honcho in the LGBT space in the UK, but whatever. I don’t know how these influencer marketing events work. But that’s some side thought for you to be let in on.
So back to the event. They customised some awesome trainers with my slogan ‘shewon’ which I loved. I got some lovely shiny shoes and I like Deichmann. I’d love to collaborate with them myself, so well done miss Rita Ora and I think the’ll be popular. I don’t think they’re distinct enough to catch fire but they’re definitely nice designs. So thank you for the invite and check out Rita’s looks if that’s your vibe!
