Alvar Aalto and Cafe Aalto

Hey everyone!

My second fabulous restaurant was the relatively new location in the infamous ‘Sugarcube’ building designed by Alvar Aalto, just off of the market square by the coast. It was set up in the upper floors and had the most insane view of the city. I got to meet one of the most incredible activists in Finland, the gorge Kasper Kivistoe who works with Trasek ry, one of the transgender organisations working in Finland.

The food was unexpected because I didn’t see loads of spicy options, and they offered a vegan chimichuri and roasted sweet potato which was absolutely fab. I loved the pudding which was an interesting like rice pudding concept with crisped rice on top and mango, it was delicious!
