Frankie and Bennies Vegan Food

Hey everyone!

So sharing a bit more about my fab times with family for Issue Two, I got the opportunity from Frankie and Benny’s to check out their Brighton Marina restaurant for some pre cinema fast food. As it was Veganuary and I wanted to see the film Knives Out with my dad, I thought we’d pop in and see what we could get.

So I’ve never been here before but my family told me it was great service and good fast food, sort of like an American Italian diner and they have a lot of vegan options. So I asked my dad if he’d get some non vegan food to try and we could compare and contrast, as I’m always interested to find places that can do proper good take out. I swear to God sometimes, trying to find a decent vegan burger is like trying to find a pink dolphin. There’s a rare few in the world and they’re unsightly and hardly pink when you find them. No shade whales I love you regardless.

So I got some tomato juice, yes I’m an old crazy lady who loves tomato juice I have no idea why. I just do. I ordered the vegan burger and some of the onion rings, the frys and my dad got the blue cheese and meat burger, sweet potato fries. He also wanted some mozarella dipper things to try and we suddenly realised how close to the call time we were, and began to panic.

I asked the waitor how long the food would take, and I kid you not, they were back in ten minutes. It was such great service and the restaurant was clean, calm and super family orientated. There was some sort of raucus when someones birthday meal came out which was a cute touch for the young people celebrating, I can imagine if you were going there for a birthday it would be an excellent place for kids.

So my burger, was probably the best vegan fast food burger I’ve had out and about for pure simplistic reasons. I’ve had mad portobellow mushroom steaks, towers of jalapeno poppers in buns, dry quorn burgers, this was just literally a normal, fast food alterative to a burger. No frills, just cooked nicely, simple and tasty. You could add extras, I think I had something spicy as I love anything with heat, but never got a photo so I can’t recall what it was. But it was so doable and the total meal, including two beers for my dad was under £50. It was awesome!

So off we went to the cinema, the film was really funny actually I quite enjoyed it. I was high key fantasising as to what it would have been like if Mr Bean had played the detective. But alas, it was great and I really recommend this for a fast, family orientated bite to eat if you’re out and about. Defo great for any vegan fast food lovers.
